2013 was certainly the year to show off the sexy.

Nigerian celebs and their foreign counterparts alike got a lot of attention by posing nude or sharing pictures of themselves wearing the bare minimum.

BON Bans Tuface, Wizkid, Banky W, Others Songs From Being Played On Air

The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) has banned songs by mostly top Nigerian musicians from airplay, in protest of what they called 'COSON's attitude of antagonism and harassment, arbitrary levying on broadcast stations by the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON).

The musicians, who were identified as COSON registered artistes'/members include:

Jonathan Declares 3 Day Mourning for Nelson Mandela
President Goodluck Jonathan has declared three days of national mourning for former South African President, Dr. Nelson Mandela, who died yesterday.


Flags are to be flown at half-mast across Nigeria during the period and President Jonathan urged all Nigerians to unite in solidarity with the people of South Africa as they mourn the “great liberator, freedom fighter and hero of the black race.” 

A statement issued by his media aide, Dr. Reuben Abati, said the President also called for special prayers in mosques and churches in Nigeria during the period of mourning which begins on Friday, for the peaceful repose of Dr. Mandela’s soul.

A special inter-denominational memorial service for the anti-apartheid icon will be held at the State House Chapel on Sunday.

14-Yr-Old Brave Girl Offers Herself to Kidnapper to Save 10 Kids

In a rare act of bravery, 14-year-old Gunjan Sarmah volunteered to be kidnapped in order to save the lives of 10 other kids from their school van at Simaluguri in Sivasagar district of Assam on Wednesday, India.

14-Yr-Old Brave Girl Offers Herself to Kidnapper to Save 10 KidsAnd not just that, she lumbered through dense forest on Thursday along the Assam-Nagaland border, where she was left abandoned by her armed kidnapper, and reached the house of a tea garden worker who called the police. Her ordeal lasted around 14 hours.

"The kidnapper picked up a small girl in the school van who started crying. I volunteered to be kidnapped instead. He clutched my hand and ran with me towards the forests," Gunjan told reporters at her home in Simaluguri.
"We crossed a river and walked through the forest for some time and stopped at one place. It was pitch dark and I couldn't see a thing.
I didn't eat anything all night. In the morning, I couldn't see him and escaped to reach a village. The villagers called up police and I was brought home," she added.

Sivasagar DSP Bijay Kuligam told TOI, "When I spoke to her this morning, she was very calm. She even referred to her kidnapper as 'uncle'." But for Gunjan's father, Shankar, a small-time trader, it was a torrid time.

"I was despairing when she was kidnapped. I even thought I'd never send her to school again. She is safer at home," he said.

ABIA TRAGEDY: 7 Children Die, 15 Injured As Truck Rams Into Classroom

Abia State - Seven schoolchidren were killed today as a truck driver lost control of his vehicle and rammed into a classroom. The accident happened at Ogbor Hill area of Aba, Abia state, in Glorious International Academy located on 42 Opobo road.

Fifteen other pupils sustained various degrees of injuries.
