Saraki Must Prove He Is Truly Sorry - Lawan group

Senator Ahmad Lawan-led Senate unity forum had on Sunday, August 23 told the Senate President, Bukola Saraki that for peace to return to the troubled Senate, he must obey the directives issued by the All Progressives Congress and  President Muhammadu Buhari over the choice of principal officers.

The group stated that the principal officers as being constituted must be reverted and that the present occupiers must vacate their seats before any truce can be reached.

The forum who canvassed for the emergence of Senator Ahmad  Lawan as Senate president, added that it will withdraw the suit currently in the court challenging the election of the presiding officers of the Senate if the party leaders directed them to do so, The Punch reports.
It tasked the Senate president and his group to show that they are truly sorry for their action before the crisis could be resolved.

This latest statement from the forum is coming on the heels of the peace moves by Saraki and his group.

NAF Destroys BH Transport Trucks

A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Agusta helicopter has intercepted and destroyed two trailers suspected to be carrying logistics support to members of the Boko Haram sect.

The helicopter that was taking part in armed reconnaissance mission around the Nigeria-Cameroon border found the trailers, which were covered and parked at different locations in the bush around the border town of Belel.

Premium Times reports that the recent air operation against the insurgents was commanded by the chief of the air staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, from a NAF reconnaissance aircraft, the King Air 350i.

According to a statement issued by Air Commodore Dele Alonge, the director of air force public relations and information, Abubakar coordinated the various NAF platforms involved in the operation to provide air support to ground forces, led by the chief of the army staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai.

Buhari Urges Lawyers Not To Defend Corrupt Clients

Nigeria’s President, Muhammdu Buhari has pleaded with legal practitioners in the country not to defend corrupt Nigerians as clients but to expose them. 


President Buhari speaking at the opening of the 55th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Abuja on Sunday, August 23, said that exposing all types of crimes was the only way to arrest corruption and restore the glory of the land.

According to Vanguard, he said that legal profession would achieve more credibility if the members of the bar and the bench uphold their professional ethics.

He said: “As you all know by now, this administration has taken on the challenge of improving security, fighting corruption and revamping the economy, among many others.

Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and general overseer of the Living Faith Church, a.k.a Winners Chapel, has blamed the high rate of divorce cases in the world to the belief in women liberation.

According to , Oyedepo during a service at his church in Ota, Ogun State on Sunday, August 23, said the increasing approval of equality between women and men have spilled into their marital lives.

He noted that such women now equate themselves with their husbands against the biblical doctrine that advises women to be submissive to their husbands and that men should love their wives.

Bishop Oyedepo said cases of divorce are more in the western world because people in such places have thrown away the dictates of God and have instead started consuming self-made laws that confer on them near-absolute freedom.

How Boko Haram Killed 8,000 Members Of My Church - Pastor

Reverend Samuel Dali, the president of Ekklisiyar Yan’uwa A Nigeria, EYN (Church of the Brethren in Nigeria), has revealed how Boko Haram killed about 8,000 of his members.

Expressing hopes that the end of the terror group is near, the cleric said some of the church facilities in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states have been destroyed in different Boko haram attacks.
Speaking with journalists in his Jos office recently, Reverend Dali lamented that aside from the 70% of his church members that have been killed,  most of his pastors have lost their jobs as their places of worship has been burnt and members killed.
