Ex- British Prime Minister Gordon Brown Charges UK To Act More On Abducted School girls (Chibok) In Nigeria

Gordon Brown has criticized the United Kingdom, UK, for not doing enough to help the government in Nigeria find and release more than 200 school girls abducted in Nigeria almost three months ago.

The schoolgirls were abducted on 14 April, 2014 inside the compound of Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, North-eastern Nigeria by members of Islamist militant sect, Boko Haram.
Speaking on the matter during a debate in the House of Commons, the former Prime Minister said that the UK is not doing enough to support Nigeria to rescue the kidnapped schoolgirls from their abductors.

Rename Nigeria To 'Airegin' To Wash Off Colonial Legacy - Confab Delegate

A federal government delegate, Chief Mike Ozekhome, yesterday, July 3, suggested to change the name Nigeria to ‘Airegin’ because the present name of the country was twisted by the colonialists and a new one would make a clean brake from the past.

During a debate on report of committee on Political Restructuring and Forms of Government with Gen. Ike Nwachukwu and Mohammed Umara Kumalia as co-Chairmen, Ozekhome also proposed to change the present National Anthem to the former and older one which was written by Taiwo Akinwumi.

He also suggested the old flag that was designed with the rising sun on it to be re-introduced against the backdrop that it was peculiar with all parts of the country.

According to him, with all these changes, Nigeria would wash off the colonial legacy. "I want to move that this conference should consider changing the name of the country to reflect our originality. The name Nigeria was a colonial imposition which must be corrected. The name was given to the country by Lady Flora Shaw who later became Lady Lugard."

Ex-Minister Fani-Kayode Summons APC To Court

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode challenged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to face him in court.

Mr. Fani-Kayode was reacting to the

Lai Mohammed, the Spokesperson of the APC, had on Wednesday said that it was too late for Mr. Fani-Kayode to back away from his statement, for which he must apologize or face court action.
According to Mr. Fani-Kayode, he would ignore the “childish name-calling” coming from the APC.
"I read the second response of Lai Mohammed and the APC to my comments which appeared in today’s newspapers. Does this so-called spokesman for Nigeria’s opposition party have nothing better to do than to join issues with me on a daily basis?" Mr. Fani-Kayode said.

"It is reinvigorating and humbling to note that Nigeria’s main opposition party can dedicate and deploy so much time and so many resources just to tackle me," he added.

The distraught parents and residents who are still mourning the , said they are left with no other option but to storm the forest and get their girls back.

The parents who disclosed this to Leadership in Maiduguri yesterday said, they would be happy to receive the corpses of their daughters for decent burial than for them to remain in Boko Haram’s captivity without any knowledge of what they are passing through.

However, the Borno State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend Titus Pona, explained that the people have already started mobilising themselves to go in search of the girls inside Sambisa Forest as they feel the government is not doing enough to rescue the girls, but that stakeholders in the area have been pleading with them not to embark on such a deadly mission.
He added that they don’t for how long they would be able to prevent them from doing so.
Pona said, "We went round to see some of the parents and their families; it was a very pathetic sight; some of them were crying and asking that they would be happy to receive the corpses of their daughters so that they can bury them and mourn them decently, than having them out there in the bush, without knowing what is happening to them."

10 Signs Your Boyfriend is Not Ready To Propose Marriage To You

One of the biggest dating questions which haunt women is whether her boyfriend is ready to commit. She may be sticking around with him for almost a couple of years now, hoping that he will make up his mind and still waiting for the elusive engagement ring.

If you don’t want to waste time waiting for a man who's not ready, learn to pick up ten signs which tell you that he’s not going to propose marriage in a hurry.

He never discusses marriage: This is perhaps the first hint that should start ringing warning bells in your mind. Your boyfriend cannot be caught dead talking about marriage as an institution or even commenting on commercials for wedding products and services. He won’t mention it even if his own brother is getting married and he is going to be the best man. His aversion to the M-word should be indication enough that marriage does not figure anywhere in his near future.

He is hugely ambitious: Guys whose only mission in their lives is to reach the top of their professional ladder are likely to take their time settling down. This is because emotional commitment to a partner might force them to cut down on their working hours and make networking with business contacts or frequent out-of-town trips difficult. Though this is not to say that married guys don’t find success – witness President Obama and Bill Gates – super ambitious men who are perpetually looking for the next bigger and better thing are more likely to consider marriage as leading to professional stagnation.

Can Infidelity Be Prevented?

Experiencing infidelity in a relationship is a hurtful and damaging experience. However, the reality is that staying faithful to one person can sometimes be challenging. We all have sexual needs and desires, and sometimes it can be very difficult to deny those feelings and uphold one's vows of monogamy.
After all, in the early days of humankind when couples mated for life, they did so when most people didn't live past their 30s. Now, we are living well into our 80s, 90s, and beyond...and that can mean that "happily ever after" feels like a very long time.

Cheating doesn't come in just one shape and size. When we think of infidelity, we tend to picture a forbidden love affair involving hotel rooms and secretive hookups. However, infidelity often looks different in today's tech-savvy society. From Facebook flirting to online affairs to extramarital sexting, modern society has changed everything about the way we live, including the way we cheat. Now, we don't even have to leave our houses to be unfaithful to our spouses. We can simply log on to Facebook and swap racy emails with an ex-boyfriend, all while in the comfort of our own living rooms.

Our lack of work/life balance has also changed the way that we relate to our partners. Emotional affairs are on the rise, as we spend more and more time at the office and less time at home. Many people even confess to having a "work husband" or "work wife." They spend the entire day with these coworkers, eating meals together, gossiping together, meeting up for happy hour and swapping funny emails. Even if physical boundaries aren't crossed, a relationship like this can quickly feel very intense and intimate.

HEALTH: Feeling Lonely Is As Unhealthy As Smoking 15 Cigarettes A Day

It kills to be lonely. Lacking good friends is roughly as damaging to your health as being obese or smoking 15 cigarettes a day, according to research from Brigham Young University. Another study showed people with at least three close buddies at work were 96% more likely to be “extremely satisfied” with their life.
Friends lower your stress, fend off depression, and serve a hundred other important functions. But plenty of people find themselves out of touch with their old friends (it was a lot easier to meet people in college), and without adequate replacements.

So how do you go about making a new pal? More importantly: How do you do it without being a weirdo?

1. Ask for referrals. As in business, nothing beats a good referral. Translation: You’ll have more success meeting new buds if you’re introduced to them by existing friends or colleagues, explains Andrea Bonior, PhD, a clinical psychologist and author of The Friendship Fix. Maybe one of your current pals gets together with coworkers for drinks once in a while, or a friend from work hangs out with some college cronies you’ve never met. If so, ask to join in. Just be upfront, and tell your current mate you’re trying to meet some new people, Bonior urges. (Otherwise it’ll be tough to shoehorn yourself into those outings without awkwardness.)

Photos: Soldiers on rampage in Palmgrove, damage BRT buses

Some soldiers are currently causing chaos in the Palmgroove area of Lagos. An eye-witness said trouble started when a BRT bus hit a soldier on a bike. Nobody knows if the soldier died but other soldiers immediately arrived the scene and started stopping all BRT buses on the express beating drivers and sending passengers out. Beating even passers-by who move too close to them or take pictures.

According the eye-witness who sent in the photos, two civilians were allegedly beaten up and a guy who was taking pictures was beaten and his phone smashed on the express road.

Then the soldiers allegedly started vandalizing the buses! According to the source, some soldiers left the express and took big sticks from women cooking by the road to break the glasses of the bus. Then one of them took stones and allegedly threw it into the crowd twice. Now the whole express is blocked.

Singer Mya denies affair with Jay Z

Singer Mya has denied reports that she's Jay Z's longtime mistress. There was a recent blind item suggesting Mya and Jay Z have been in an 11 year affair, with the rapper allegedly financially supporting her. But Mya says it is 100% false.

Mya denied the reports on instagram today after a fan asked her if it was true. "Heard you and Jay Z had an 11 year affair. Are you his side chick or nah?" the fan asked

Mya replied;

Never did, never was, never will. Illegitimate, thirsty sources with no facts and that's the 'media' for you - especially today. I play second to no one, pay my own bills, have my own label, own management company, rely on God only and respect myself & marriage too much for nonsense."
False rumors are crafted for ratings & numbers. And miserable, unhappy people need someone to judge to deter the attention away from their own misery and feel better about their miserable lives. If they did it to Jesus, they'll do it to anyone. God bless."
