Jim Iyke - Why I went To The Synagogue

AFTER the video showing Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, in a deliverance session at the Synagogue Church of all Nations went viral, so many people have been reacting to the incident. While some thought it was a movie, others thought it was a mere publicity stunt by the church.

Ace filmmaker, Charles Novia, reacted to the deliverance session thus: ‘Jim has my best wishes. Good actor, he is. So, Jim Iyke got ‘delivered’ of an evil demon in a popular church recently? Mmn. Chai! Strange things happen. We go through a mid-life crisis one time or the other.
Genuine God discovery helps. For those sending me hateful tweets over this deliverance issue, you know the way to the church for yours.
I’m unfazed .

I do think, though, that Jim was brave to go for deliverance. It is a first step to a total recovery. I wish him well. Honestly, I do.”
Jim Iyke, however, did not feel comfortable that it went on the cameras and tweeted ‘I’m not insulting anyone. I just feel that ‘deliverance’ issues are personal, not with cameras and klieg lights. These Nollywood stars and the rush for ‘deliverance’. Dem need am sef. God save us producers from some of the demons we cast.

‘All I can say is that ‘whatever floats your boat, brother’. Better send those poor women you have dated to same church for same.’

However, Jim Iyke, who was more concerned about his salvation than what people had to say, explained his reason for going to the Synagogue. “It’s beautiful, that’s the least I can say. Nothing else truly matters; absolutely nothing. God liveth, whether you are a believer or not. Met more miserable billionaires than unhappy income earners. Success is relative. I want it wholesome. It is either you are bond or free’, he twitted.

HEALTH: Study Examines Various Treatments For Nose Bleeds

The way doctors treat nose bleeds (epistaxis), a condition that will affect about 60 percent of the population during their lifetime, varies greatly among patients seeking medical attention with no difference in outcomes, according to a study by Jennifer A. Villwock, M.D., and Kristin Jones, M.D., of the State University of New York-Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.

About 70 percent of nose bleeds occur spontaneously for reasons that range from unknown causes to cancerous lesions. While about 6 percent of patients with nose bleeds will require medical or surgical attention, very few people (less than 0.2 percent) will need to be hospitalized with a bleeding nose, according to the study background.

HEALTH: Sleep 'cleans' the brain of toxins

The brain uses sleep to wash away the waste toxins built up during a hard day's thinking, researchers have shown.

The US team believe the "waste removal system" is one of the fundamental reasons for sleep.
Their study, in the journal Science, showed brain cells shrink during sleep to open up the gaps between neurons and allow fluid to wash the brain clean.

They also suggest that failing to clear away some toxic proteins may play a role in brain disorders.
One big question for sleep researchers is why do animals sleep at all when it leaves them vulnerable to predators?

It has been shown to have a big role in the fixing of memories in the brain and learning, but a team at the University of Rochester Medical Centre believe that "housework" may be one of the primary reasons for sleep.

"The brain only has limited energy at its disposal and it appears that it must choose between two different functional states - awake and aware or asleep and cleaning up," said researcher Dr Maiken Nedergaard.
"You can think of it like having a house party. You can either entertain the guests or clean up the house, but you can't really do both at the same time."

Wizkid Praised Director Sesan Ogunro!

Starboy Wizkid has pitched his net with music director  Sesan Ogunro  despite the twitter feud between him and hiphop star Davido over the Skelewu video released over the weekend. He revealed his stand yesterday in a tweet praising Sesan for a fantastic job on his hit video, “Jaiye Jaiye” in September.
There has been a rumor of a cold war between Wizkid and Davido in the past but with his open declaration of support for the opposite camp, are we looking forward to a beef here?
Wizkid made it clear that Sesan’s work on his Jaiye Jaiye video  was perfect and perhaps, he doesn’t care what ‘anyone’ has to say or has already said.

Miley Cyrus Announced as 2013 MTV Europe Music Award Performer

Miley Cyrus has joined the line-up of performers at 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards. The 20-year-old star is expected to bring her newly-released album, "Bangerz", on the award show, which will be held at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome on November 10.

Cyrus is joining previously-announced performers, which include Katy Perry and The Killers. Earlier this month, Perry confirmed that she would deliver the live performance of "Unconditionally", the second single off upcoming "Prism" album.

Cyrus and MTV have a history. Cyrus has received many backlashes for her raunchy performance with Robin Thicke at MTV Video Music Awards back in August. Stars like Pink, Jonas Brothers, Brooke Shields and Kelly Clarkson have voiced their negative opinions about Cyrus' twerking-filled appearance.

The nominations for this year's MTV EMAs are led by singer Justin Timberlake and rap duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who are bagging five nods each. The two entertainers are set to compete in various categories that include Best Male, Best Live, Best Video and Best Song.

Set to air in the U.S. on November 10 via the network, the upcoming annual show will be hosted by LMFAO's Redfoo. Singer Ariana Grande serves as a backstage host.

Mary J. Blige Shares The Secret To Her Long Reign

In a conversation with Spin, Mary J. Blige is warm, polite, and considered. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is no less obliging to her fans, with whom she's shared a 21-year-long musical discussion. Fittingly, then, just in time for the holiday season, she has released a gift of sorts with her first yuletide LP, A Mary Christmas, produced by Celine Dion hitmaker David Foster. And while Blige acknowledged during the chat that the title's play on words was too good to pass up, the seasonally themed LP also invited a certain amount of year-'round introspection.

Mary J., 42, spoke with Spin about what it takes to wear the crown.

Read the conversation below:

I was conscious about not hurting myself to save the lives of my fans.

When I took control of my life and I said, "No more drama," it was during that time of the No More Drama album, when I was done with drugs, I was done with alcohol, I was done with living a life where I hated myself. I chose not only my life, but my fans, I chose them, too. People love Mary J. Blige, and if I hurt myself or commit suicide — because I was very suicidal then, before I said no more drama —my fans, that can hurt them. That can even kill some of them. So I made the shift thinking about not just my life, but four million people that came with me in this music business and said, "Mary, you saved our lives. We love you."
