Five Nigerian Rappers You Should Watch Out For
Rap music is one of the major talking points in the Nigerian music industry. Over the years, this genre of music has grown from a thing of a few to a popular choice. Whenever rap music is been discussed in Nigeria, it is more likely that names like M.I, Vector would pop up but beyond these popular names, there are artistes making good rap music. Some of these artistes you probably have never heard of and some others you might have listened to casually. I suggest you listen to them and see why I rave about them.
To help you peep into the brilliance outside the popular list of rappers, I have put up a list of top five rappers you should listen to. Here’s the list.
BOOGEY
This is one brilliant rapper that I feel is much underrated. The fluidity and depth of his rap is amazing. I believe he has the stuff to match any rapper in the country. He was even said to have the best verse on M.I’s A-grade Illegal music II. To fully appreciate and grasp the brilliance of Boogey, I recommend any of his mixtape albums, ‘The Reach’, ‘Thirst 48’ and his other joints. You would understand why he is topping this list and why he should be on any other list of quality rappers in Nigeria.
MOJEED
The frontman of Aristokraft music is undoubtedly a fine rap choice. Mojeed’s style of rap mixes foreign flow with indigenous input. He even has a description for the mixture; he calls it ‘Westernized West African’, which is the title of his album. Whoever says you cannot keep it fresh and do it for the street should try listening to Mojeed. His album, Westernized West African is rich with lyrics, flow, originality and vibe.
POE
I am also guilty of not listening to Poe as much as he deserves. Each time I listen to him, I am impressed. He has featured on a number of hit songs including ‘Marry Me’ with Falz and Yemi Alade and he delivered a good rap verse on it. He also has some projects with the class rap group, Show Dem Camp. He has that trait of using relatable and humorous lyrics. Another interesting thing about Poe is the time keeper’s delivery that he employs in his song. Poe’s versatility, reflective lyrics and delivery qualifies him for recommendation.
KAHLI ABDU
Chocolate City has built a reputation as an institution for rappers. Kahli Abdu is one of the good stocks of rappers that CBN boasts of. Kahli Abdu has that peculiar rap voice and does not use it to excuse cultured lyrics. He blends both well. His style is quite unique and definitely something rap fans would love.
DUSTEN TRUCE
D’Truce as he likes to be called has that soft and smooth rap style that makes me liken him to Jermaine Cole. One of his unique qualities is his narrative lyrics. I first came across this dude in E.C.H.O cypher and since then I have been a fan. His mixtape album, ‘The Truce Shall Set You Free’ is a brilliant work of rap. He has a number of singles that can be referred to, to really appreciate the qualities that Dusten Truce has got.
It is good to extend your search for brilliant rap artistes beyond what is popular. The rappers on this list offer you worthy options. Perhaps you feel there is a flavor of rap missing in the Nigerian rap scene; I strongly recommend artistes on this list. I’d only advice that you prepare to become a fan.

HEALTH: Sachet Water as a Threat to Public Health
Notions are that water is one medium through which pathogenic organisms are spread. The substantiation is that sachet or packaged water, which is the major means of drinking water in Nigeria, is not exempted of deadly organisms, due to its microbial substance. Unsafe water supply and laughable sanitation are fingered as the cause of over 70 per cent diseases in the developing countries.
Miss Eruchi Chinda, a resident of Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, is fond of drinking chilled sachet water. She later started experiencing symptoms of fever. She visited her doctor and was diagnosed of typhoid fever, caused by Salmonella typhi and related illnesses.
Professor Amobi Ilika, the Director of Community and Public Medicine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Anambra State, in March 2013, when in a civic presentation, cautioned that sachet water exposed to heat is capable of exposing the drinkers to cancerous materials. Many won’t listen!
Chinda’s doctor informed her that the typhoid fever is unconnected to drinking impure water. The doctor touched sachet or packaged water as the causative factor, cases of people having diseases like cholera, dysentery, diarrhoea, typhoid fever, and so many others, abound today.
How sachet water gets contaminatedProfessor Ilika was of the view that polythene bags made of synthetic petroleum deteriorates water in them, because the polythene bags are weather-susceptible. He averred that some of the sun ray or heat, melt some of the synthetic petroleum into the water. He enthused that the materials that will drop into the water are called carcinogenic. Not only that, the polythene bags also build-up germs and micro organisms.
Chinda’s doctor confirmed that the diseases occur, because of the presence of bacterial features such as Bacillus sp., Pseudomonas sp., Klebsiella sp., Streptococcus sp., and oocysts of Cryptosporidia sp., that have been traced to be present in sachet water.
There are also traces of other microbial pathogens connected with water pollution which include Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio, Campylobacter, Yersinia, Cryptosporidium and Giardia species, according to the experts, and they are not farfetched in this type of water.
The highlight of this is that vendors of the sachet water are not technically and scientifically grounded on handling and producing sachet water through storage and handling.
Why Nigerians drink sachet waterWater, which is essential to human lives, has recorded immeasurable years of neglect in Nigeria by the successive governments, hence leaving the supply of drinking water in the country in undependable hands of sachet water producers.
The populace loves this brand of water, which comes in sizes ranging from 60 mL to 2 L, due to its portability. However, many citizens are oblivious of the health hazards that it portends. The citizens may not be blamed, since they need ways to douse their urge for water. And it is cheap to purchase a sachet.
But that is not the least. As a viable business in Nigeria, the sellers of sachet water protested in some parts of the country in February 2016, due to the economic downturn that the country experienced. Their anger was that a bag of the product, with habitually 20 sachets that was sold at N100, had skyrocketed for N150.
A sachet that was sold for N10, jumped for N20. The failure to provide safe, pipe-borne water for human consummation by the successive governments, led to the production of sachet water in Nigeria. The governments’ ineptitude geared the sale of such water by individuals, with many of the producers not having in-depth knowledge of producing quality water.
Re-certification of sachet water producersThe authorities, having earful of complaints on the dangers associated to sachet water proposed a bill in the recent past, to ban this type of water in the country. But the bill later bit the dust.
The Director of Special Duties, Mr. Abubakar Jimoh of National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), on February 10 2014, said the agency, in cooperation with the Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, and the Senate Committee on Health, had put every modality in place towards the re-certification and examining of sachet water producers in the country, with effect from March of the year in quote.
His words were that the agency spurred for the monitoring, because it had newly acquired mobile laboratory kit just like a van, well equipped with latest ultra-modern testing kit. What was intended to be done was for the agency to be moving with the ‘vehicle’ from one factory to another.
That was coming after January,2014, the Federal Ministry of Environment mouthed its plan to phase out light weight non-biodegradable plastics in the country, having collaborated with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), in December 2013, in a workshop, to put Nigerians on notice. Their gesture was that countries like China and South Africa had placed outright ban on light weight plastic bags, likewise some other countries.
Environmental degradationSachet water packs are known as major sources of environmental degradation in the country. On June 5, 2013, the authorities made known their plans to ban the use of plastic bags in the country, beginning by January 2014.
The Minister of Environment, Mrs. Hadiza Ibrahim Mailafia, disclosed this then, during the 2013 World Environment Day celebration in Abuja. The statement has not hold water as used sachet packs litre everywhere across the country. In some states of the federation, upon the introduction of waste banks, buy-back programme, to checkmate the nuisance of used sachet packs, orderliness is still elusive.
The country is in a big problem, as synthetic, black bags, polythene bags have crowded the ecosystem, constituting about 70 per cent of Nigeria’s non-biodegradable waste. There are indications that it takes over 20 years for a sachet water bag to get wholly decayed inside the soil.
Its presence decreases the quality of soil texture. The fear among experts is that these bags are in the landscape. And they are not bio-degradable, comprising a pain-in-the-neck. The irony is that the country is in dearth of framework to address the issue.
The wastes block drains, gutters and canals. Not only that, they cause odiferous atmosphere. A new time comer to metropolis and urban centres in the country is greeted with the foul odour. To the residents, the offensive smell has become part of their life. It means nothing to them.
Apart from the foul odour, sachet packs gathered by flood during the rain do not allow easy flow of water, hence causing overflow of erosion into residences. Seeing this, the state governments often introduce levies to residents to help dispose them of their wastes, but this does yield little or no result.
Suggestions on how to get out of the puzzleChecks revealed that waterborne disease outbreaks can be checkmated by the provision of potable water, which is often regulated to keep public health, owing to the fact that drinking water is an important environmental determinant of health.
In order to rearrange the system, water treatment plants should be provided, such with a capacity over 5,000 m3/d, based on the population. Specialists intoned that poor operation and lack of maintenance that led to the breakdown of the water systems should be reviewed. This will enable the citizens not to rely on unreliable wells, unprocessed water from rivers and streams used in producing sachet water.
No one influenced me to leave Olamide’s label – Lil Kesh
Lil Kesh
Ever since artiste, Lil Kesh, announced via his Instagram page that he has left YBNL, the record label of his mentor, Olamide, so many people have had diverse opinions about the young chap.
While many said that he was ill-advised by those he surrounded himself with, others opined that his career was not ripe for such a move as they said it would affect him adversely.
But in a chat with Saturday Beat, the rapper explained why he took the decision.
He said, “People are still getting it wrong; no peer group or friends pressurised me to leave YBNL. To set the record straight, I don’t move with any other crew other than YBNL; so who would possibly want to influence me? Nobody. It has always been Olamide’s dream that we all grow big in the industry; Olamide had shared the idea with me before I even thought of it. I am still very much around in the industry and good stuff is still going to come out from my stable and YBNL.
“The fact that I am floating my own label does not matter, neither does it mean that I am no longer under YBNL. That is where a lot of people are getting it wrong. Olamide and YBNL movement are still managing me as an artiste and the fact that I have my own label simply means that YAGI Records is being managed by YBNL. We are still together; I and Olamide still record in the same studio and work with same set of producers. As you all know that YBNL is a family thing and we all support one another.”
Known for the lewd lyrics in his songs, the 22-year-old said that people should not be deceived as he is a very religious person. He said that he is from a strong Christian background and he had never forgotten his roots.
While describing himself as a church boy, the singer said, “I don’t joke with my creator; despite all the whole celebrity thing; this life doesn’t freak me, I always remember where I came from and how far God has positioned me because my story is a testimony; what excuse do I have not to praise my creator?”
When asked if he knew that people perceived him to be a pompous fellow, he said that it was hard to believe because he hardly goes out.
“There are places where you go and people tell you Lil Kesh is a good guy while there are some places that will feed you with negative comments. That is all part of the life of a star. There are times I have a very bad day and barely smile; maybe that’s one of the days those people meet me, or maybe I am at an event with a crowd of over 5,000 people, you don’t expect me to take pictures with them all even though I am willing to do that. My manager sometimes restricts me when he sees that the crowd is becoming too unbearable. I am a human being and I can’t satisfy everybody. Let me seize this opportunity to say I am sorry; maybe you caught up with me on a very wrong day. Lil Kesh is cool headed, playful and down to earth,” the rapper said.
Fans react to departure of Ice Prince from music label, Chocolate City.
Fans of popular Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince have expressed mixed reactions over his inability to renew his contract withhis former music label, Chocolate City.
Prince had on Thursday announced his departure from Chocolate City, stating he had to leave because his contract with the label was over.
The departure of the rapper had come as a surprise to his fans as he had recently been made the Vice President of the Chocolate City Group.
This had created the impression that he was officially a member of the label.
Prince, who informed fans on social media of his new record label called; “Super Cool Cats’’, promised to give more information on the label in the coming weeks.
The rapper, who wrote on his Instagram page that Music producers like Mr Kamera and King Illkeyz were part of his new record label, had also signed on a fashion designer.
In spite of the unexpected surprise of the rapper’s departure from the label he had been with for eight years, the rapper had continued to receive accolades from fans for signing on to a new label.
Jude Olalekan, a night club DJ based in Abuja, congratulated Prince and wished him well in the new company.
“I was definitely surprised to hear that he was leaving that label and going to another that I have honestly never heard of.
“I’m sure he will succeed there, because he is a talented guy so I will just wish him the best in this new journey,” Olalekan said.
Cassandra Agim, a bartender in Krystal Lounge in Abuja said she was sad to learn that the rapper was leaving and wished that he would continue to be productive in his new label as he was in the former one.
“I have always loved Ice Prince right from his Oleku days and I am really sad to hear he is leaving Chocolate City.
“That label helped him become internationally known and he won a BET award in the United States for his amazing songs.
“I pray he doesn’t regret this move and that he remains productive in this new label,” Agim said.
Femi Idowu, an instrumentalist who performs at hotels and nightclubs in Abuja, stated that it was most likely that the rapper had issues with the label which made him not to renew his contract.
“This doesn’t make sense to me, because just a few months ago he was made Vice President of Chocolate City and now he just left because of a contract?
“I can’t say I believe that the people who made him Vice President didn’t know that his contract was coming to an end. It’s just not reasonable.
“I don’t think anyone can walk away from a group that boosted their career and made them who they are.
“The fact that a track produced by Chocolate City for Ice Prince made him win a Black Entertainment award known as BET all the way in United states, and he feels he shouldn’t renew his contract makes me think there is a problem between both parties but I wish him the best.’’
An upcoming fashion designer, Eromonsele Egwebe said that he was happy that the new label had signed in a fashion designer, adding that it would spur them to work harder in their designs.
“I am just impressed with the fact that there is a fashion designer in the label.
“I saw pictures of the designer’s work on the Instagram page of the new label and this will go a long way to inspire designers like me.
“It is nice that a music label wants to integrate fashion into their brand which makes them a high fashion label of some sort,’’ Egwebe added.
According to him, we will judge the music when they start producing his new album.
YUL EDOCHIE FLOATS FILM ACADEMY
WITH the aim of inspiring young people to go into movies, Nollywood hunk, Yul Edochie has branched into movie production. This is coming a few weeks after floating his pet project; Yul Edochie Academy.
Shedding light on his original intention, the father of three and scion of actor, Pete Edocie said; “I love directing and I love teaching. As a director you have the power to teach others and bring them up to the required level. As an actor, you can only play your part and hope the movie comes out well, but as a director you have the power to make the movie come out well.
“The passion is and will always be my drive. I’m madly in love with my job. Not to worry guys, I am not leaving the screen. I just love to teach others what I know. Making our films come out better and doing what I love doing.”
He also revealed that that the first movie he directed was 10 years ago, but that he is back into it full time
“The first film I directed in Nollywood was titled Secret Pain. It was shot in 2006. However, I will be combining both acting and directing and it’s a great feeling. Though it is very stressful, it is also a rewarding experience,” he said.
The actor also debunked rumours that he was involved in a ghastly car accident in Udi, Enugu.
“I wasn’t involved in any accident. I’m fine. Facebook scammers are using it to make money. Online media platforms should learn to confirm such stories before publishing,” he added.
I spend N50,000 monthly on my dreadlock –Orits Wiliki
ORITS Willik needs little or no introduction. He is a household name in Nigerian music.
He is also a Rastaman. But one thing that distinguishes him from most Rastas is his clean dreadlock and disdain for Indian hemp. In this interview with AYODELE LAWAL, he reveals the secrets behind his looks. Enjoy.
How long have you been keeping your dreadlock?
It’s been a long time, let’s say about 16 years now.
Why did you throw away the comb?
It’s just to set a good example, because before now, most Rastas wore their dreadlocks virtually unkempt, and because of this, a lot of people do not want to associate with them; and that put a lot of discrimination between Rastas and the message they preach. And knowing fully well what the society is all about, you are like the eagle’s eye. For your information, we Rastas see the future and we talk about it. We see the oppression, the brutality, and the corruption. I sang about corruption long time ago and see what’s happening today. But because we are Rastas people never took us serious. And in order to correct that impression, I refused to smoke hemp and I decided to keep my dreadlock clean. With my dreadlock, I have wined and dined with the kings and those that matter in the society. And I’m proud to say that it’s what a lot of people admire in me, most especially the women folk. But if it has been dirty, I wouldn’t have been accepted today and I won’t be talking to people in the society.
How have you been taken care of the dreadlock?
Hmm… it costs a lot of money to maintain the dreadlock.
How?
I do it once in a month and the stylist comes to my house. It takes almost a whole day off me. It involves a lot of stuffs. Well, if you want to be a dread man, you can come and I will tell you how I do it (laughter). Obviously, it’s very expensive to maintain. We have special shampoo, cream etc. In fact, everything is special; things like mango shampoo, olive oil and lots of stuffs. I must confess, it’s very stressful but it’s worth the stress.
Have you ever measured it?
Yes, I did a year ago and it was 1.4 metres, and it’s still growing.
Do you use any cream or drug for the hair to grow?
It grew by itself because if you feed the hair very well, it will definitely grow. And it doesn’t fall off; it’s a very healthy hair.
What are the benefits of keeping dreadlock?
That goes a long way to show to you that Rastas are well to do people and we are clean too. If we spend so much to keep our hairs that means we are comfortable. It is in this part of the country that people look down on Rastas. In Jamaica and other parts of the world, we have Rastas that are judges, doctors and other professions, and they are doing well.
But some Rastas look dirty?
Yes, but we are like role models to most of them now. And they have been keeping it clean also. It’s very spiritual because if you wear the dreadlock, you’ll see things that others don’t see.
What about the disadvantages of wearing dreadlock?
The disadvantage could be the stress you pass through in making it look good, and your purse too, because it’s expensive keeping the dreadlock. I spend close to N50,000 buying the stuffs I use on my hair to look good, which may not last for two months. In addition, I will still pay the stylist for home treatment and other things.
Who has the longest dreadlock in Nigeria?
I’m not competing with anybody because Rastas don’t do that.

As race for Rio Olympics over-age players rages: Siasia meets Mikel, Ighalo
As the waiting game over the identity of the over-age players Nigeria will be parading in the men’s football tournament of the 2016 Olympics goes on, Samson Siasia has met with John Obi Mikel and Odion Ighalo, two Eagles stars holding out for the chance to be on the flight to Rio.
Mikel-Ighalo
Though the competition is primarily for players below 23 years, a provision has been made by FIFA for each participating team to register three players above the stipulated age limit, sparking a battle for these slots by the likes of Chelsea midfielder, Mikel, Watford’s forward, Ighalo, Lille goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, who only last weekend made the French Ligue I team of the season and CSKA forward, Ahmed Musa.
Speculation over the identity of the Dream Team’s fantastic trio for Brazil seems unending despite Siasia’s statement that he knows the three over-age players who will make the flight to Rio as Nigeria seek a second gold medal some 20 years after their first at the Atlanta Games.
And Siasia seems to have stoked up the heated debate after meeting Mikel and Ighalo recently.
The two Nigerian Premier League exports are currently vacating after a gruelling European football season ended last weekend In England and in a post on his official handle, Ighalo shared a picture of himself alongside Siasia and Mikel at what seems an exquisite restaurant
The picture shows Siasia smiling as he warps his hands around the two Eagles stars, suggesting that they have made the flight to Rio, smiling in turn as they united with their former coach at the junior level and recently with Eagles during the last two AFCON 2017 qualifying games with Egypt in Kaduna and Alexandria.
Speaking recently on his Olympics plans, Siasia “my target in Rio is to pick the gold medal having won the silver medal in Beijing in 2008.”
Brazil, parading captain Neymar go into the August tournaments as firm favourites, but the the Nigerian challenge will be a very real one, as long as Siasia selects the right over age players to bolster their chances of a second gold.
Fuel price increase: Tinubu appeals to NLC to call off strike
Bola Tinubu
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has called on the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress to call off the ongoing strike it declared to protest the current fuel price hike from N86 and N86.50k to N145 per litre.
The former Lagos State Governor pleaded with the President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba, and other leaders of the congress to return to the negotiation table to resolve the current industrial dispute.
The Federal Government, through the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, had said on Thursday that the government could only resume talks with the NLC if the ongoing strike was called off.
Tinubu was accompanied on the visit to the Labour House venue of the meeting by the Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, Senators Kabiru Marafa from Zamfara, Humkunyi Suleiman from Kaduna North and others.
He was received by the President of the NLC, Wabba; the Deputy Presidents of the Congress, Peters Adeyemi and Nojeem Yasin; the Chairman of the Labour and Civil Society Coalition, and a former President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Prof. Dipo Fashina; and a former Vice-President of the Congress, Isah Aremu, who is the Secretary General of the National Union of Textile Garments and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria.
The Labour leaders and their civil society allies took a break from their street protests to attend the meeting before returning to continue with the protests.
Tinubu urged the workers to continue to give the expected level of support to President Muhammadu Buhari, who according to him, would utilise available funds in the interest of the citizenry and not divert any funds for private use.
He stressed that the NLC played a major role in the emergence of the Buhari’s administration, noting that any action that would culminate in wealth dislocation was not in the interest of the citizenry.
Tinubu said that the price of the product would come down when the market was opened to competition as marketers would rather sell their products rather than hoard them in order not to owe their creditors.
He said, “My mission here is peace; my mission here is for us to return to the negotiation table. In war, like we have in Syria, what would end it after destruction? It will still end up in discussion, to have an understanding to rebuild the country.
“Let us build Nigeria, let us make Nigeria the centerpiece of Africa; let us look at the analysis and the bye products of the new refineries in this country and see. Why can’t we be the plastic centre of the continent and the world? Why is iron ore not being exploited?
“Additional investment gives you more power, gives you more influence, gives you more membership. And any dislocation of wealth in this situation will not help Nigeria. Please let us bear that in mind. It will not help Nigerians.
“Let the price be competitive. You will see, initially, it is a problem, difficult, but when the market is opened up to competition, marketers will depend on volume.
“They want to turn over their products very quickly; they don’t want them to remain in the tank farm because they owe their creditors.”
The APC chieftain appealed to the NLC, saying the party would not have won the last presidential election without its support.
He said, “You brought this government about, without your support, without your participation, we couldn’t have won the election.
“Now we have won the election, we now look at ourselves, can we manage the victory? Can we use this success to make those changes- positive and progressive change- that can work, cooperating and collaborating to make those changes to the benefit of all Nigerians?”
Tinubu added that the genuine activists in the Labour and civil society movement would agree that the issue was not about cheap oil but about the progress of the society, and the existence of disposable income that would alleviate the suffering of the people.
He said that the time had come for Nigeria to try fresh ideas as the obsolete ideas of the past had not resulted in the desired progress.
He noted that marketers had always exploited the subsidy through lack of foreign exchange, irregular supply, subsidy variation, interest and others.
Tinubu said that the population of the country and the vehicular density had moved beyond the population of the 1970s and 1980s when the four refineries were established.
He said, “We are trying to educate our children not to suffer the same problem. We want to correct their future. We want to guarantee their future.
“The same population that accommodated the early 70s and 80s is not the same population we have now. The vehicular density is not the same. And it is a sign of progress. Is our population a sign of asset or a liability? Our population is an asset to us; we are the largest economy on the continent. Why not take advantage of that? Why is diversification not being actualised? Why is it just on paper?”
Aregbesola said that they were at the Labour House ‘to appeal to the NLC under Wabba to suspend the strike and go into dialogue with government.’
He said that it was the desire of all Nigerians to have a society that would be rid of poverty and corruption.
In his response, Wabba, who said that the NLC was open to discussions, added that the congress had taken note of what Tinubu said and would take the appeal to the organs of the congress for deliberation.

"Every Woman Wishes For Marriage, But It Is Not Something You Die For" - Mary Urantha Bares At All
In a recent interview she granted Telegraph, the Rivers State born movie star said; "Love and marriage is a good thing. Everybody wishes for love. Every woman wishes for marriage, but it is not something you die for.
When it comes, it comes. I can’t force myself into anything. When you force yourself into marriage, you find yourself coming out.
Love cannot stand in my way of career because first of all, I cannot date a man who doesn’t support my career. A man who loves me will love my passion, my career, everything around me. When you find a man who doesn’t love or support you, it is very simple, it just shows that the man is not for you. My first priority for a man is you must love my family. Career is even secondary. A man that loves you will love everything about you."

FIFA unveils 2026 World Cup bidding process
Soccer's world governing body said it would consider giving the green light to joint bids and review a rule which currently allows a continent to stage the tournament every eight years.
A FIFA source said they had considered increasing this wait period to 12 years or more and that there had been no discussions about allowing a continent to host successive World Cups.
This could mean that with Russia hosting the 2018 World Cup, Europe would have to wait until at least 2030 before staging the tournament again, Reuters reported.
The decisions were among the first passed by the new-look FIFA Council, which was holding its maiden meeting since it replaced the old executive committee under reforms passed in February.
The Council, which has a strategic role, ruled that bidding nations would have to meet requirements on human rights, sustainable event management and environmental protection. Bidders who did not meet 'technical requirements' would be excluded, it said.
Infantino was elected as FIFA president in February when one of his main promises was to increase the number of teams in the finals from 32 to 40, a proposal which is strongly opposed by Europe's biggest clubs.

Jose Mourinho signs pre- contract deal with Man U...will be paid £15m if he isn't appointed by June 1
According to the report Mourinho will be paid up to £15m if by June 1, 2016 the club refuses to employ him.
“If United do not sign the final contract [with Mourinho] before 1 May, they must pay £5m; if by 1 June he’s still not signed, they shall pay another £10m. May is the key, because it’s the month in which the vast majority of the signings of players are closed and the plans formed.” Read the report.El PaÃs claim that the clause has been included because senior figures at Old Trafford, including Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton, are not entirely convinced that Mourinho is the right man to succeed Louis van Gaal.
Senior officials at Manchester United like Ed Woodward have refused to deny the report.
