Plane Crashes, Kills 34

A Mozambique Airlines plane en route to Angola crashed in a game park in northeast Namibia killing all 34 people on board, a Namibian police official said on Saturday.

Namibian Police Force Deputy Commissioner Willy Bampton said that the burned out wreckage of the aircraft, which went missing on Friday, was found in the Bwabwata National Park, near the borders with Angola and Botswana.

"The plane has been completely burnt to ashes and there are no survivors," Bampton said.

Police in Dresden, Germany, say they have arrested a 55-year-old police officer on suspicion of murder after the body of another man was found in the Erz mountains in eastern Germany.

According to the police, there are indications that parts of the victim may have been eaten.

The deceased lived in Hanover and had been reported missing.
