Katy Perry's new song called "Unconditionally" has arrived online. Produced by Dr. Luke and Cirkut, the new track has been confirmed as the second "Prism" single. It serves as the follow-up to chart-topping and platinum-selling lead single "Roar".
"It's a love song and it's different from 'Roar' - it's not
eighth-notey," Perry said of the song during an interview several weeks
ago. "And I think it's a universal love song that everyone's going to be
able to relate to no matter the age, no matter male or female."
"Unconditionally" is a powerful love ballad that features Perry singing
about loving her dearest one unconditionally. "Oh no, did I get too
close?/ Oh, did I almost see what's really on the inside?/ All your
insecurities/ All the dirty laundry/ Never made me blink one time," she
sings.
Perry is gearing up to release her "Prism" album, which is due out on October 22 via Capitol Records. The album will also include "Dark Horse" and "Walking on Air", two songs which have been released as promotional singles.
