The 'I Hit It First' singer - the younger brother of Brandy Norwood
- got into an altercation with police at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel
after being ordered to leave over his ''rowdy'' behaviour, and now faces
four charges of resisting arrest, three counts of assault and battery, two counts of vandalism and one of sexual battery, all of which are misdeneamour offences, TMZ reports.Ray J has been charged with 10 offences over his arrest in May.
The sexual battery charge brought by the Los Angeles County District Attorney yesterday (21.07.14) is particularly controversial as police at the time insisted no such crime was committed.
The offence relates to the singer brushing up against a woman's butt at the hotel, but police said at the time the contact was incidental, not intentional.
After being asked to leave the hotel, the 33-year-old singer - who is best known for appearing in a sex tape with then-girlfriend Kim Kardashian - refused to go so security made a citizen's arrest.
Law enforcement officers then arrived at the scene and the R&B star allegedly kicked out the back window of the police car and spat in an arresting officer's face as he was being handcuffed.
