At least 15 people are feared to have died when bomb exploded at Dukku Park in Gombe, North Eastern Nigeria, this morning.
A top security source has informed TheCable that the bomb blast has resulted in the death of “many people”.
According to him the blast occurred at about 11am, a time when the
park was soaked with passengers “who wanted to travel” ahead of the
Christmas Day and Boxing Day holidays. Details of death toll were not
immediately available.
An eyewitness told the Daily Trust that he counted at least 15 bodies.
Though the police have cordoned off the area, many injured have been transported to hospital.
Dukku park serve several routes including Bajoga, a town Boko Haram invaded early this month.
An explosion rocked a bus station in Gombe
on October 31, 2014. The number of dead was up to 30 people, as the
figures from various sources remain conflicting and contradictory.
A group of suspected Boko Haram gunmen also attacked a police station in Nafada town, Ashaka cement factory in Gombe state.
