Diseases, such as cancer, kidney failure, and diabetes, do not start in a day. The symptoms must have been manifesting one way or the other, but many that have been afflicted by these conditions ignored or dismissed them for various reasons – usually negligence.

In some cases, especially for the religious, life-threatening diseases only strike the unfaithful or those who have allowed the devil to interfere. Even when the signs have generated to symptoms, they would rather choose to live in denial or simply continue to ‘reject’ the issues.

Doctors state that 95 per cent of diseases claiming people’s lives daily in thousands could be prevented if people took their health and some signs they give seriously by going to a physician.

They  stress that not every sickness can be ‘rejected’ and hypertension, stroke and heart attack are not a reward for drinking too much, smoking or other vices that many are quick to blame for serious life-threatening diseases.

The Chief Medical Director, Active Hospitals, Lekki, Lagos State , Dr. Odun Johnson,  says the joy of any doctor is a patient that comes on time, adding that by doing so, the life of that individual who would have died of kidney failure if he ignored the blood in his urine is saved.

HEALTH: Benefits Of Exercise During Pregnancy

Exercising during pregnancy isn’t only good for you: Just one hour of moderate activity a week can boost your baby’s brain development, finds a new study from the University of Montreal.

Researchers recruited 18 pregnant women in their first trimesters and asked half to exercise a minimum of 20 minutes, three times per week, while the other half remained sedentary during pregnancy. The researchers then measured the newborn babies’ ability to discriminate sounds—the basis  of learning to understand language—eight to 12 days after birth. They found that the children of women who exercised had a more mature response, indicating their brain development was given a head start in the womb, says study author Élise Labonté-LeMoyne, a doctoral candidate at the University of Montreal.

2. The vast majority of women don't consider watching porn to be cheating. A full 93 percent of participants reported that they wouldn't consider their partner unfaithful for watching porn. As it should be.

PHOTOS: Lagos Danfo Driver Strips Naked To Avoid Arrest

There was drama at the Palmgrove Bus Stop, Ikorodu Road, Lagos State, on Monday when a commercial bus driver stripped naked to avoid being arrested by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.


The LASTMA officials had blocked five different commercial buses for indiscriminately taking passengers by the side of the road.

Passengers in the four vehicles were asked to alight, as officials of the traffic agency took over the wheels of the impounded vehicles.

There was however drama when the old man who drove the fifth bus suddenly went inside his bus and brought out a bowl.

A fetid odour emanating from the bowl polluted the fresh morning air.

The LASTMA officers, policemen and commuters ran for cover.
But one of the officials came back and stood his ground, wielding a baton and insisting that the man must follow them.

When it became obvious that the odour strategy had failed, the driver began pulling off his clothes, prostrating by the front tyres of the vehicle and rolling on the floor.

Super Eagles Qualify for Brazil 2014

The Super Eagles dominated on Saturday and predictably qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The African champions defeated the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia 2-0 at the U.J Esuene Stadium in Calabar.

Victor Moses and substitute Victor Obinna Nsofor were the heroes for Nigeria.

Moses converted a 20th minute penalty to put Super Eagles, who had earlier defeated the Ethiopians 2-1 in Adiss Ababa, ahead on 3-1 aggregate.

Nsofor, who plays for Lokomotiv Moscow in the Russian Premier League, stunned the East Africans when he fired home a superb free- kick in the 82nd minute to send the packed U.J Esuene Stadium into celebration.

Nigeria thus qualified for next year’s global soccer fiesta on 4-1 aggregate.

According to report, Mikel was shown a property for sale by this close friend.

The footballer then went on to inspect the property and was satisfied with it.

He was said to have given this friend a cheque of N100m to purchase the property.

The friend after clearing the money has reportedly disappeared into thin air and till date Mikel is yet to hear from him.

According to a source who confirmed the story, Mikel still finds it difficult to believe as they were very close, adding that the friend is no longer seen in town and his phone numbers have been unreachable.

The source also said Mikel is still very much busy to come to Nigeria to report the case to the police.
