Valentines day will soon be around the corner and many Nigerian couples are busy thinking up new ways to show their loved one how they really feel.

But this article is not for them, this article is for those naughty ones who want to avoid the stress and commitment that comes with being in love.

1. Do an internal evaluation. Really spend some time to meditate and see if your feelings to resolve the relationship are due to something temporary, such as: a petty disagreement, a misunderstanding, a miscommunication, hearsay, jealous feelings, etc, or if it is a deal-breaker. Also, find out if you are at your best in this relationship, or if this relationship is your downfall. You should feel good being around your "boo.'" You should feel comfortable and safe. So, take some time to see if this is what you really want to do. If it is.

2. Keep it on the "DL." If you have to consult your bff or your mom, do so, but make sure they keep your plans private. It's bad enough that Valentine's Day is coming up, then to make matters worse, the gossip has circulated and he/she finds out before you have the time to talk. If everybody has been in your business in the past, do your best to keep this business to yourself until you have sealed the deal. Be mature and have the decency to

Simple Rules On How To Keep Men Of These Days

Many women have lost some precious men in their lives because they couldn't play by the rules of how to keep a man.

Some women are now in their 40′s and still don't have any man in their lives and they blame it on the old lady in their village. Keeping a man does not demand a Master's degree or Phd. It is simply by following some rules that will touch the man inside.

Below are 10 rules on how to keep a man:

GIVE HIM SPACE: The fact that he's given you his key does not mean you should always be in the room, sometimes men love to be alone and always being around ruins it. If you're that kind of woman who wouldn't let him have that space and always wanting him available or forcing to accompany him everywhere, you can ruin your relationship. Respect his space, it is very important to him.

BE LOYAL: Everybody loves those who show constant support to them and men are not an exception. Any woman who shows constant support or by being loyal to his man has a greater chance of keeping him than those who don't. Every man loves a woman who believes in his ideologies and is willing to support him achieve them.

BE PATIENT: Every man will find it difficult to stay with a woman who is impatient and wants to argue all the time. If a man gets angry, it should take the patient of a woman to calm him down, so if you are the type who easily gets angry, how will you be able to calm a man down. The key point here is, be patient. Men hate women who retorts at everything they say.

ARTICLE: Joining Jesus In Restoring Culture

What do we mean when we talk about “culture”? In Culture Making, Andy Crouch defines culture this way: “Culture is what we make of the world. Culture is, first of all, the name for our relentless, restless human effort to take the world as it is given to us and make something else.”

All of us make something of the world. And our contributions actually communicate quite a bit about what’s important to us. What we make of the world either gives people a surprising vision of the Kingdom of God or reinforces their spiritual numbness as citizens of the dominion of darkness. This is the essence of Jesus’s teaching in the Sermon on the Mount.

Now that we are citizens of a better Kingdom that is breaking into the world, Jesus invites us to participate with him in what he is “making of the world” via the Kingdom of God.

During a flight to Denver, a man named Ben and I talked for a couple of hours. He shared how he used to be a Christian but now isn’t sure how to categorize his spirituality. As the conversation continued, we began to speak about the role of the Christian church in the world today.

HEALTH: Managing a fever

Fever in infants is probably one of the more common worries among parents.

Worried about your child’s fever? Here’s a guide for parents

FEVER in infants is probably one of the more common worries among parents. It is also normal for fever to occur in the wee hours of the day, which means consultation from doctors during that time is generally not possible unless the patient is taken to the emergency section at a hospital.
The usual questions that crop up in a concerned parent’s mind are:
* Is my baby’s temperature low or high?
* Should I wake my child up for fever medication?
* Will my baby’s high temperature cause injuries to the growing brain?

HOW HOT IS HOT?
A fever is usually a sign that something out of the ordinary is going on in your body.
“It is our body’s reaction to an inflammation or infection. The release of inflammatory mediators as a result of our body’s response towards infection or inflammation contributes to fever,” says Dr Khoo Boo Aik, paediatrican and neonatologist at Sunway Medical Centre.
Normal body temperature is around 37ºC. Dr Khoo explains that low grade fever is in the range of 37.1 to 37.9ºC, while moderate fever is 38 to 38.9ºC.
A body temperature of above 39ºC is considered high fever.

MANAGE WHILE IT’S HOT
“Not all fevers are bad. It is a good indicator, telling us that our body immune system or defence mechanism is working hard in trying to control infection and inflammation,” says Dr Khoo.
However, fever may be absent in newborn or very young infants or children who are immuno-compromised, even though they may have an underlying infection or inflammation.
Therefore, it is important to examine these groups of infants or children thoroughly. Doctors may need to carry out urine or blood investigations in order not to miss the underlying infection, even in the absence of fever.
Medication is recommended to suppress fever that causes discomfort or to control the fever from spiking high enough to cause seizures, especially in childrens with history of recurrent febrile fit or underlying epilepsy.

NIGERIA'S GAYS MORTIFIED: "We Will Fight Back!"

This Monday, the news of Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan signing the "anti-gay" Bill hit the Internet. The development provoked both praise and outrage expressed by various world nations. On Tuesday, dozens of homosexual individuals were arrested in our country and now are facing up-to-14-years jail sentences.

The current law has been in the offing for about eight years, since it was first proposed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo's cabinet back in 2006.

The Nigerian LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community is mortified with the new law.

"Living conditions and realities for LGBT have been … hell, frustrating, challenging, demonizing, violence filled, stigma-inflicted, just name it," says Rashidi Williams, the Organizational Director for Nigeria's Queer Alliance. "Conditions moved from worse to worst. We are terrified as a people.

"There is panic in our community. People's fears have been heightened. Those who have been open all this while are gradually returning back to the closet… Laws such as this destroy society and thus there is need for civil disobedience," he says and adds they cannot desist from taking action while the law "destroys the very essence" of their humanity. He vows to "fight back to the last."

Apart from banning same-sex unions, the law also prohibits any activities related to gay clubs, societies, organisations, and/or public show of same-sex "amorous relationship". Furthermore, just showing support for "the registration, operation and sustence of gay clubs, societies and organisations, processions or meetings in Nigeria" also could mean imprisonment.

HEALTH: De-stress during stand-still traffic

Traffic congestion is a daily reality for urbanites. Aznim Ruhana Md Yusup has suggestions on how to turn this into something positive

MOST of us living in urban areas have come to (grudgingly) accept traffic jams. We even factor in the probable time we spend caught in a jam when we plan our daily commute.
But then, there are days when a 40-minute crawl becomes a three-hour stress test. This can happen for a number of reasons — an accident, flash flood, faulty traffic light etc. And there is no getting away from it.
Instead of fretting, just consider traffic jams as enforced timeout from your schedule. Here are 10 suggestions on what you can do in such a situation but be careful not to lose your concentration, or you may end up causing an accident.

1  - CALL FRIENDS
People often find that they don’t get as stressed out in a congestion if there is someone else keeping them company. So use a hands-free set or switch on the speaker and call up a friend for a chat.
Friends are not the only people you can ring. Priscilla Patrick, a radio traffic news veteran and Red FM presenter, gets calls from motorists whotell her about the traffic situation.
“But I also get people calling in just to say hello! I don’t mind it, because I can multi-task,” she says.

Hear what FFK said about Jonathan and his anti-gay law today on Facebook:

“Boko Haram suicide bombers have struck again in Maiduguri today killing dozens of people. Instead of fighting the war against terror GEJ is busy locking up gays. Shame on him.”

When a fan accused him of supporting homosexuality, FFK said:

“I am not gay and I do not approve of homosexual behaviour. However I think it is wrong to send people to jail based on their sexual preferences and sexuality. It is known as persecution of minority rights and its is reprehensible.”

These are factors why children aged between seven and 14, want to get into the world of entertainment, according to a survey by Adecco Malaysia, a leading human resource solutions company.

The survey interviewed respondents in the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Baru and Malacca in mid-November and December last year.

Previously, it was not a popular career choice among children.

"When children in the yesteryear were asked what they wanted to become, the common answers were doctor, teacher, lawyer or join the army. Rarely, did we get anyone saying they wanted to become actors (in the entertainment world)," he told Bernama in a recent interview.
