Boko Haram Abducts 2 Politicians, Wife & 2 Children
The wife and two children of a politician, Zaraye Mala
Sheriff, have been reportedly abducted by Boko Haram in Ngal town, Borno
State.
Two prominent politicians in the area, Alhaji Annur Mohammed and Liman Alhaji Hussaini, were also kidnapped when the insurgents stormed the town in the early hours of Friday.
A source from Ngala who spoke to Daily Trust said: "The insurgents stormed the house of the Zaraye around 12.30am on Friday and asked the wife about her husband. Apparently angry over the woman’s silence, the sect took her and two of her children away.
"Up till now, nothing has been heard of the woman and her kids. We have not heard anything about the two businessmen either," the source added.
It was gathered from sources that Zaraye Mala Sheriff is a councillor in the area and a cousin of former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff.

Men in Uniform Abduct Woman in Lagos
A four-man gang said to be kidnappers stormed Oshodi under bridge on Saturday, snatching a young woman at gunpoint. One of them was reported to have worn the uniform usually used by officials of the anti-robbery squad.
Punch reports that the victim was walking along with her mother when she was confronted by the men. It was said that the mother was threatened with a gun when she wanted to defend her daughter.
The gang, who were said to have arrived at the Oshodi area around 2.30pm, whisked the woman away in a Honda Pilot jeep.
PUNCH Metro also learnt that the young woman struggled to avoid being abducted by snatching handcuffs from one of the abductors and smashing it on his head. The man, who was reported to be on a uniform with a scorpion logo at the back, corked his gun to disperse a crowd who wanted to help the woman.
When their correspondent arrived at the scene of the incident at about 2.45pm, the victim’s mother was seen pacing up and down and shouting “egba mi, omo mi!” (Please help me, my daughter). The worried mother did not reply our correspondent’s enquiries as she ran after the vehicle.

Don’t Give Up - Pastor Kumuyi Tells Nigerians
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life
Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, on Sunday urged Nigerians not to give
up over unpleasant life circumstances and challenges they might be
facing, assuring that all would soon be over.
Kumuyi pointed out that some difficult
life conditions were meant to serve as training for believers in God
and, as such, were meant to be taken in good faith.
He, however, declared that there was light at the end of the tunnel if they remained steadfast in God’s ways.
The cleric spoke during the church’s
monthly revival programmed tagged, ‘Soaring on Eagle’s Wings’ held at
the Deeper Life Conference Centre along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Mowe,
Ogun State.
“God will not fail you; you will rise
above life challenges and circumstances,” Kumuyi declared to the several
thousands of participants, who gathered for the two-day revival
meeting.
The cleric gave the example of Joseph in
the Bible who passed through several challenges before becoming the
Prime Minister of Egypt.
Munachi Abii explains why she took a break from music
Former beauty queen cum rapper, Munachi Abii has explained why she has seemingly taken a break from the music industry. She told Vanguard that she took the time off to re-access the industry and work on her craft:
It wasn’t too long, and nothing actually happened, I just decided to take a break. It’s not everytime you have to release songs, you have to take time out in between. If you continue doing songs all the time, before you know it, you will crash and it is happening to a lot of people right now without them even knowing it. So I had to take some time away to study people, the environment, and the music industry to know those that love and hate me. So that’s what I did. I took a step back and it wasn’t too long and I also used the time to work on my tracks and work on myself as well. So that is why I decided to keep quiet.
On artistes who are difficult to work with in the industry:
To me everybody is cool to work with. It’s just that women are tough to work with. I don’t know why we are like that, working with the men is easier because they know what they want but with the females, it is different. It only works well when you are friends.
On if she's open to working with upcoming artistes:
I don’t have any problem being featured on anybody’s track at all. That is, if I see that you have a good track and you want a good job done, I will do it.

PDP Accuses APC Over Nyako’s Impeachement
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is responsible for the impeachment of the former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako.
The party made the accusation in a statement issued to Premium Times on Sunday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh.

Olisa Metuh

The statement described as unfortunate that the APC which hampers
on championing the rights of the electorates to choose their leaders, is
now the same party challenging the constitutional right of the same
people to oust a corrupt leader.
“The impeachment of the former governor of Adamawa
State, Murtala Nyako is an act of democracy. It is a constitutional
right granted exclusively to the people of Adamawa State and no other.
This, they exercised through the votes of the overwhelming majority of
the elected members of the State House of Assembly who also accorded
rule of law and due process the rightful place in removing Nyako.
Therefore, allegations by the All Progressives Congress (APC), linking
the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and
President Goodluck Jonathan to this, are purely escapist and can only
come from revisionists and reactionary forces, the unmasked pretenders
to democracy. It is really an irony but what does one expect from the
APC that is undergoing febrile seizure over the furious collapse of its
imagined dominance of Nigeria’s political space? It is not surprising
that the drowning, who is striving to clutch on any available straws
would turn the PDP into a scape goat” the party said.
Boko Haram Attack Power Station Around Damboa
For 3 weeks now Borno
State capital Maiduguri has been reportedly cut off from the national
grid following the damaging of major electricity installments around
Damboa by Boko Haram insurgents.
Leadership has made this known with reference to its security sources.
Many residents of the city are said to be suffering from the darkness
in the area. People were unaware of the reason for power outage and
thought it had been caused by power line upgrade for improved supply, as it had been previously stated by the minister of state for power, Hon. Muhammed Wakil.
According to the new findings however the real reason for blackout is attack by terrorist on major installations of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria.
Confirming the information, the military source said the insurgents had detonated bombs leaving about 2 million of Maiduguri residents without electricity. As a result many locals have to rely on power plants and big businesses – on generators.
The situation has reportedly resulted in substantial hardships both for businesses and individuals.
Households who produce iced blocks required for the Ramadan fasting period lament now they are forced to purchase them:
"We now buy iced sachet water for N25 but before it used to be
sold for N10 each or, in some cases, two sachets of iced block for N15."

Former South African Coach Tips Keshi For Bafana Bafana
A former South African soccer coach, Steve Barker, has tipped Nigeria’s Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi for the vacant coaching job of the Bafana Bafana.
According to Barker, who is currently the head coach of University of Pretoria, Keshi has all it takes to take over the reins of South African soccer team.
The South African Football Association (SAFA) has indicated that it would not renew outgoing coach Gordon Igesund’s contract.
It would be recalled that after the just ended 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, there were speculations of Keshi dumping Nigeria for South Africa.
But football authorities in South Africa released a statement where they denied such insinuations.

Nigerian Military: #BringBackOurGirls Now, They Are Dead Already!
The Nigerian military
just released a statement in which they ‘explained’ why they have not
yet – after three months – brought back our precious Chibok abducted
girls. In the statement as presented in the media, the military claimed that their problem was ‘bringing back the girls alive.’
Director of Information, Defence Headquarters, Major General Chris Olukolade said: “To
the best of our knowledge, they are still accessible. If we tried to
force our way in, they may be killed. If we force our way there, they
will kill them. This is what we want to avoid at all cost; rescue
operations of that nature should not be done in a hurry. Sambisa (forest) is not impenetrable. But let me say it here: they mined almost everywhere around where they are keeping these girls.”

security department under Chief of defense staff, Air Marshal Alex
Badeh, Security head, NSA Sambo Dasuki, Minister of defense, ex-NSA, Spy
Aliyu Gusau and
ultimately the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan, is "shameful, wicked and embarrassingly treacherous to put it
mildly", Peregrino Brimah declares in his article for SaharaReporters.
The girls are dead already. Quit the BS. The girls – being raped and
killed in Sambisa Forest are no better than dead. Our lazy, unwilling,
unable and impotent, corruption riddled and grossly sabotaged security
services are a sham and disgrace. They are afraid of dying on mission to
rescue the girls. This is the truth about their position; harm to the
girls who are harmed already beyond human redemption, is the least of
their worries. Nigerians and the observing international community are
no idiots. We are not in the least fooled into believing that the
preservation of life is the least of the Nigerian security department’s
worries. The military should just quit already and step aside so the
willing coalition of Nigerian civilian patriots demanding the right to
be armed and allowed into Sambisa to do the dignified, can go ahead and
rescue the girls, dead or living-dead.

Rename Nigeria To 'Airegin' To Wash Off Colonial Legacy - Confab Delegate
A federal government delegate, Chief Mike Ozekhome, yesterday, July 3, suggested to change the name Nigeria
to ‘Airegin’ because the present name of the country was twisted by the
colonialists and a new one would make a clean brake from the past.
During a debate on report of committee on Political Restructuring and Forms of Government with Gen. Ike Nwachukwu and Mohammed Umara Kumalia as co-Chairmen, Ozekhome also proposed to change the present National Anthem to the former and older one which was written by Taiwo Akinwumi.
He also suggested the old flag that was designed with the rising sun on it to be re-introduced against the backdrop that it was peculiar with all parts of the country.
According to him, with all these changes, Nigeria would wash off the colonial legacy. "I want to move that this conference should consider changing the name of the country to reflect our originality. The name Nigeria was a colonial imposition which must be corrected. The name was given to the country by Lady Flora Shaw who later became Lady Lugard."

Ex-Minister Fani-Kayode Summons APC To Court
Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode challenged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to face him in court.
Mr. Fani-Kayode was reacting to the APC’s latest response to his claims that the Boko Haram terrorist group was the party’s armed wing.
Lai Mohammed, the Spokesperson of the APC, had on Wednesday said that it was too late for Mr. Fani-Kayode to back away from his statement, for which he must apologize or face court action.
According to Mr. Fani-Kayode, he would ignore the “childish name-calling” coming from the APC.
"I read the second response of Lai Mohammed and the APC to my comments which appeared in today’s newspapers. Does this so-called spokesman for Nigeria’s opposition party have nothing better to do than to join issues with me on a daily basis?" Mr. Fani-Kayode said.
"It is reinvigorating and humbling to note that Nigeria’s main opposition party can dedicate and deploy so much time and so many resources just to tackle me," he added.

"It is reinvigorating and humbling to note that Nigeria’s main opposition party can dedicate and deploy so much time and so many resources just to tackle me," he added.
We'll Be Happy To Get Our Daughters' Corpses' - Chibok Parents Ready To Storm Sambisa
Parents of the abducted Chibok schools girls and other residents of the community have said they are prepared die in Sambisa forest for the rescue of the girls.

Parents of missing Chibok girls weeping
The distraught parents and residents who are still mourning the loss of their children, who have been missing for close to 3 months, after they were abducted in a night raid by Boko Haram, said they are left with no other option but to storm the forest and get their girls back.
The parents who disclosed this to Leadership in Maiduguri yesterday said, they would be happy to receive the corpses of their daughters for decent burial than for them to remain in Boko Haram’s captivity without any knowledge of what they are passing through.
However, the Borno State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend Titus Pona, explained that the people have already started mobilising themselves to go in search of the girls inside Sambisa Forest as they feel the government is not doing enough to rescue the girls, but that stakeholders in the area have been pleading with them not to embark on such a deadly mission.

Pona said, "We went round to see some of the parents and their families; it was a very pathetic sight; some of them were crying and asking that they would be happy to receive the corpses of their daughters so that they can bury them and mourn them decently, than having them out there in the bush, without knowing what is happening to them."

10 Signs Your Boyfriend is Not Ready To Propose Marriage To You
One of the biggest dating questions which haunt women is whether her
boyfriend is ready to commit. She may be sticking around with him for
almost a couple of years now, hoping that he will make up his mind and
still waiting for the elusive engagement ring.
If you don’t want to waste time waiting for a man who's not ready, learn to pick up ten signs which tell you that he’s not going to propose marriage in a hurry.
He never discusses marriage: This is perhaps the first hint that should start ringing warning bells in your mind. Your boyfriend cannot be caught dead talking about marriage as an institution or even commenting on commercials for wedding products and services. He won’t mention it even if his own brother is getting married and he is going to be the best man. His aversion to the M-word should be indication enough that marriage does not figure anywhere in his near future.
He is hugely ambitious: Guys whose only mission in their lives is to reach the top of their professional ladder are likely to take their time settling down. This is because emotional commitment to a partner might force them to cut down on their working hours and make networking with business contacts or frequent out-of-town trips difficult. Though this is not to say that married guys don’t find success – witness President Obama and Bill Gates – super ambitious men who are perpetually looking for the next bigger and better thing are more likely to consider marriage as leading to professional stagnation.

Can Infidelity Be Prevented?
Experiencing infidelity in a relationship is a hurtful and damaging
experience. However, the reality is that staying faithful to one person
can sometimes be challenging. We all have sexual needs and desires, and
sometimes it can be very difficult to deny those feelings and uphold
one's vows of monogamy.
After all, in the early days of humankind when couples mated for
life, they did so when most people didn't live past their 30s. Now, we
are living well into our 80s, 90s, and beyond...and that can mean that
"happily ever after" feels like a very long time.
Cheating doesn't come in just one shape and size. When we think of
infidelity, we tend to picture a forbidden love affair involving hotel
rooms and secretive hookups. However, infidelity often looks different
in today's tech-savvy society. From Facebook flirting to online affairs
to extramarital sexting, modern society has changed everything about the
way we live, including the way we cheat. Now, we don't even have to
leave our houses to be unfaithful to our spouses. We can simply log on
to Facebook and swap racy emails with an ex-boyfriend, all while in the
comfort of our own living rooms.
Our lack of work/life balance has also changed the way that we relate
to our partners. Emotional affairs are on the rise, as we spend more
and more time at the office and less time at home. Many people even
confess to having a "work husband" or "work wife." They spend the entire
day with these coworkers, eating meals together, gossiping together,
meeting up for happy hour and swapping funny emails. Even if physical
boundaries aren't crossed, a relationship like this can quickly feel
very intense and intimate.

HEALTH: Feeling Lonely Is As Unhealthy As Smoking 15 Cigarettes A Day
It kills to be lonely. Lacking good friends is roughly as damaging to your
health as being obese or smoking 15 cigarettes a day, according to
research from Brigham Young University. Another study showed people with
at least three close buddies at work were 96% more likely to be
“extremely satisfied” with their life.
Friends lower your stress, fend off depression, and serve a hundred
other important functions. But plenty of people find themselves out of
touch with their old friends (it was a lot easier to meet people in
college), and without adequate replacements.
So how do you go about making a new pal? More importantly: How do you do it without being a weirdo?
1. Ask for referrals. As in business, nothing beats a
good referral. Translation: You’ll have more success meeting new buds
if you’re introduced to them by existing friends or colleagues, explains
Andrea Bonior, PhD, a clinical psychologist and author of The Friendship Fix.
Maybe one of your current pals gets together with coworkers for drinks
once in a while, or a friend from work hangs out with some college
cronies you’ve never met. If so, ask to join in. Just be upfront, and
tell your current mate you’re trying to meet some new people, Bonior
urges. (Otherwise it’ll be tough to shoehorn yourself into those outings
without awkwardness.)
Photos: Soldiers on rampage in Palmgrove, damage BRT buses
Some soldiers are currently causing chaos in the Palmgroove area of Lagos. An eye-witness
said trouble started when a BRT bus hit a soldier on a bike. Nobody
knows if the soldier died but other soldiers immediately arrived the
scene and started stopping all BRT buses on the express beating drivers
and sending passengers out. Beating even
passers-by who move too close to them or take pictures.
According the eye-witness who sent in the photos, two civilians were allegedly beaten up and a guy who was taking pictures was beaten and his phone smashed on the express road.
Then the soldiers allegedly started vandalizing the buses! According to the source, some soldiers left the express and took big sticks from women cooking by the road to break the glasses of the bus. Then one of them took stones and allegedly threw it into the crowd twice. Now the whole express is blocked.

Singer Mya denies affair with Jay Z
Mya denied the reports on instagram today after a fan asked her if it was true. "Heard you and Jay Z had an 11 year affair. Are you his side chick or nah?" the fan asked
Mya replied;
Never did, never was, never will. Illegitimate, thirsty sources with no facts and that's the 'media' for you - especially today. I play second to no one, pay my own bills, have my own label, own management company, rely on God only and respect myself & marriage too much for nonsense."
False rumors are crafted for ratings & numbers. And miserable, unhappy people need someone to judge to deter the attention away from their own misery and feel better about their miserable lives. If they did it to Jesus, they'll do it to anyone. God bless."

Maku Attributes Boko Haram Increased Attack On Media Publicity
Labaran Maku, the Minister of Information has taken a swipe
at media practitioners over their reportage of the activities of the
radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram.

Speaking on Wednesday at a press briefing in Abuja after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, he alleged that it was the generous media coverage that journalists were giving to the Islamic sect that had increased their onslaught in the country.
Maku noted that the numerous attention being given to the activities of Boko Haram in some parts of the country was all they needed to unleash more terror on innocent citizens.
According to Leadership, the minister while fielding questions from State House correspondents, stated that terrorist groups all over the world excel more when they get maximum media reportage of their attacks, adding that terrorist only aim was to destabilise the polity and also display their evil acts.
"Editors are just too happy to make headline of the terrorists bomb explosion, forgetting that the more you give them headline the more they are energized because that is all they need to remain in business. If you black them out of the news for six months, they will feel frustrated" Maku said. "But as it is now, our media are fond of casting political headlines, attacking the government. They make it look as if it is the terrorists that deserved all the attention, when it is obvious that we are not dealing with enemies on one side. The enemies are with us".
