A commercial bank in Lagos around Ijaiye has been reported to have been ravaged by fire, gutting down the branch’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) gallery yesterday.
Leadership
reports that the incident happened at about 7am destroying the right
wing of the bank’s administrative block. A source who pleaded anonymity
made it known that there was no death as men of the Lagos State Fire
Service came to the scene promptly to salvage the situation
.
The bank has however since then been closed down for business activities and all banking transactions have been suspended till further notice. It would be recalled that just recently, about
60 students of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology
(ESUT) escaped death by the whiskers, when a mysterious fire engulfed
the Coal City Shuttle bus they were in.
