The Lagos
State Government has released a statement yesterday in order to inform
the public about some important information everyone need to know about
the deadly disease called Ebola.
The special Adviser to Lagos governor on Public Health,
Dr Mrs Yewande Adeshina has made a statement to debunk rumour going
round that some persons who are residents in Lagos are already carriers
of the deadly virus. Mrs Yewande revealed that none of the persons who
had contact with the late Liberian, who died cruelly from the pawns of Ebola, Patrick Sawyer has manifested any early signs of the deadly disease.
PMNews reports that the special Adviser explained further that none of the 59 persons that had contacts with the Foreign
Ebola victim has developed any symptoms whatsoever pointing at the
deadly virus. She confirmed that they are however fine and in good
health.
Also in line with that, the Commissioner for Information, Lateef
Ibirogba has advised all indigents to be careful of dubious people who
claim they can cure the deadly disease as it is only proper medical monitoring of any unusual health condition noticed, that can help bring down the deadly disease before it grows into a matured stage.
The Commissioner however warned people to desist from sending panicky
text messages round about the Ebola Disease that could heighten tension
and create anxiety. He reminded residents of the State to make use of
the emergency phone numbers – 08023169485, 08033086660, 08033065303,
08055281442 and 08055329229 provided to contact health authorities in
case anyone with observed symptoms of the Ebola disease is noticed. He
also advised residents to observe the highest level of personal
environmental hygiene adding that they should visit hospitals or Primary
Health Centres nearest to them to report strange feelings noticed.
