We ‘ll provide data on Boko Haram, Ebola Virus — Minister

ABUJA — The new Minister of National Planning Commission, NPC, Dr. Abubakar Sulaiman, has said he was determined to work hard towards providing Federal Government with accurate data on Boko Haram, Ebola Virus disease within and outside the country to actualise its ongoing transformation agenda.

The minister made the pledge during the official handing and taking over ceremony at the National Planning Commission, yesterday, in Abuja. “I am from the academia, I know what it means to research, monitor and do surveillance, and this we will do to get the best out us. “We have to work hard to get accurate data not just on infrastructure and policy making, but also on Boko Haram and Ebola Virus within and outside Nigeria. “We will do all we can to get accurate data on all these so that Nigeria can move forward. Where Nigeria is lacking, I will mobilise resources to bridge the gap. With the support of staff of NPC we will ensure we achieve accurate data for Nigeria within the time we have in office,” he said. On whether he will initiate new projects, the minister said: “As the new minister of NPC, my predecessor had done so much, I don’t think we are lacking in the area of human resources and capacity. What we will do is to put all hands on deck to improve on what my predecessor had done.
